Nicolette Sheridan apparently auditioned for the role of Grace on Will & Grace, but lost out to Debra Messing. When she auditioned for Desperate Housewives, producers said, "Nicolette came in - she did a great job, but the perfomance was just a little...desperate," and decided to give her a guest-starring role.
